PLD Week & Lighting Design Competition

In collaboration with the City of Paris and the French lighting industry association Syndicat de l’Éclairage, VIA organised the Professional Lighting Design week; over around ten days partners were encouraged to open their showrooms for discussions, exhibitions and get-togethers.
As a highlight to the PLD week, leading lighting designers from different parts of the world were asked to shared their visions of „The Future of Urban Lighting“. These experts were:

Furthermore, on the occasion of PLDC 2017, a Lighting Design Competition was organised, which had the aim of suggestions for creative and intelligent solutions to support and enhance social life in cities.

The winners of this competition were:

Both the results of the competition, as well as the visionary theories of the Masters of Light were displayed in three showrooms in Paris; Erco showroom, Fagerhult showroom and Zumtobel showroom.
